There are many ways for you to get involved with the Lakeshore Museum Center, our four Historic Sites, and Michigan’s Heritage Park in Whitehall.
When you become a member, you are on the inside of what’s happening at the museum. You get special notices, early registration, discounts, and invites to members-only events. PLUS, you are providing support for our mission. As a member you also get the right to vote at our annual meeting.
Get involved with us by sharing your time and talents. We have many different locations with different needs, so check us out. You might prefer to lead tour groups, help with grounds maintenance at our new park, or you might even like polishing silver. Come have fun with our great team of volunteers!
We have have seasonal opportunities and occasionally full and part time jobs. Check out our listings often to see if we have the perfect opportunity for you.
Are you a student studying history, exhibit/graphic design, or education? These are just a few of the intern options we can offer students. We also offer multi-disciplinary internships if you want to see a bit of all departments within a museum.
Do you have a Muskegon-related artifact that will enhance our collection so that we may use it to help tell a story about a special part of Muskegon’s rich natural or cultural history? Consider donating it to our collection.
Preserving and storing nearly 80,000 artifacts takes money, as does creating exhibits to interpret the natural and cultural history of Muskegon County. Your funding can help us achieve our goals and mission, whether it is unrestricted gifts to help now or planned gifts to carry us into the future.
